Hear Willie and Liz recall the struggles of the homeless in Philly

In January of 2010, the Poverty Initiatve, a group based in New York that aims to reignite Dr. Martin Luther King's Poor People's Campaign, visited Philadelphia for an immersion tour. The tour highlighted the history of the struggles of poor people in this city. Willie Baptist and Liz Theoharis, of the Poverty Initiative,  shared stories about the struggle of the homeless in 1995 and 1996.

Cure CVS Campaign On Step Closer to Victory

Yesterday City Council came a step closer to regulating the sale of expired products at retail stores like CVS, which has a significant track record of selling outdated over-the-counter medicine, infant formula and dairy products at its Philadelphia stores and nationwide. The City Council Committee on Health and Human safety unanimously passed a bill on for an intitial reading this week and possible vote at next Thursdays City Council session.
